As nutritionists we often talk about baseline nutrition and that’s because this is the most logical place for people to begin a supplement program.

Often called healthy tonics, vitality supplements, men’s vitality supplements, women’s vitality supplements, or even wellness vitamins, the concept should be the same. Energy supplements are also becoming very popular because our high stress society, which seems to rob us of energy and vitality to the point that by the end of the day all we want is something to combat tiredness. We also talk about vitamins for men and women; men’s vitamins should include men’s vitality supplements, since energy seems to be an important factor. But this really is not any different for women. Women are looking for healthy aging supplements, stress supplement, and those for energy and metabolism. We can see that the interests for both men and women are relatively the same.

Nutritional supplements for overall wellness should include natural vitamins, herbal vitamins, and plant trace minerals. In the arena of energy supplements once again we would look for natural vitamins high in the vitamin B complex due to their contribution for increased energy. In each and every case we should be looking for what we call full-spectrum multivitamin supplements, ones providing at least the 100 nutrients that we know we need on a daily basis. Liquid vitamins are among the most highly absorbed but they’re often difficult to manufacture due to stability issues.
